FAQ’s

Collecting

All cakes will be available to collect after 12pm on TUESDAYS and after 10am on WED- SAT and will to be collected before the shop closes at 3pm (2pm on Saturdays).

If you are running late or cannot come and collect your cakes within these hours then please let me know as soon as you can and I will try and accommodate where possible.

​All of my cakes are baked fresh which means they can be frozen if wanted.

Please ensure you store and transport cakes safely and as recommended. I cannot accept responsibility for cakes once they’ve been collected.

Storage & Shelf Life

We always recommend storing your cakes in their boxes at room temperature (if consuming on the same day) or, in the fridge if the weather is warm.

​Our cakes can keep well for up to 5/6 days if wrapped and kept in a fridge. However, there may be some elements that don’t keep as fresh (such as fresh fruit). I recommend storing in an air tight container, or wrapping your cake box in cling film.

Allergy Information

Having a severe nut allergy myself I am proud to say that I am a nut free kitchen.

All of our cakes are made in a small kitchen where eggs, milk, soya and gluten are used. For this reason, I cannot guarantee they are free from traces of these allergens. I do take all the necessary steps to ensure cross-contamination doesn’t happen, however, there is always a risk that one of our products has come into contact with another product.

Please note that my macarons are made and handled in a separate premises keeping Bodkin Bakes’ kitchen on West Street completely NUT FREE.

One of the main ingredients in macarons is almond flour, so all of my macarons contain NUTS. My macarons also contain EGGS, and DAIRY but are GLUTEN FREE.

Changing Or Cancelling An Order

If you need to change the date or details of your order or cancel it altogether please contact me as far in advance as possible. I will always be as accommodating as I can if you need to change or postpone an order but please bear in mind that I may have had to turn away other customers to fulfil your booking for a particular date and/or elements of the order may have started, so refunds/changes are not always possible.

Orders cancelled within 7 days of the delivery/collection date are not entitled to a refund, but please get in contact and I will see what I can do.

Returns Or Refunds

All of my cakes and bakes are baked to order and we do not accept returns.

Refunds, gift voucher or a replacement order to the same value will be given only in the event that you receive the incorrect items or if the items are seen to be of unsatisfactory quality. Should this be the case, or if you are in any way unsatisfied with the condition or quality of your cakes upon receiving please email me on bakemeacake@bodkinbakes.co.uk within 24 hours of receipt.
